Who doesn't love Marcia Wallace? The veteran funny gal (The Bob Newhart Show, The Simpsons) is having a field day on the Young and the Restless as a snarky, knife-wielding nurse named Annie --and any resemblance to the nutcase of the same name in Stephen King's "Misery" is purely, hilariously intentional. Wallace's character is obsessed with autobiography penned by Kay Chancellor, who she's helped kidnap, and brings some much-needed bubbles--and a surprising touch of pathos -- to a situation that borders uncomfortably on elder abuse. Wallace also adds color to the soap. Literally. Her crazy, spiky coif is a shade of red not found in this solar system! Nurse Annie is cutting it up on Y&R - Michael Logan |
